Showtime Excitement

We’ve met, telephoned and e-mailed some extremely interesting people during the production of this issue of Baby & Kids — our ABC Expo issue! Everyone was so excited about their company’s new introductions coming in September ... and their excitement got us excited. Tracy George, President of Thank You Baby, really got us going as she told us about her new Kathy Ireland Home by Thank You Baby collection (see pages 10 and 36). Elin Kabo, Director of Communications at ALEX, truly amazed as she presented the company’s new products and shared her market expertise in our feature on toys and games (see pages 10 and 42). It was too fun to explore the Taggies license (see page 34), noting how a small idea that started in 1999 has transformed into a licensing entity in 2008. And of course excitement was fever-pitch at All Baby & Child, Inc., the parent corporation of the ABC Kids Expo. As we developed this issue, Eric Seemann, Promotions and Production Manager, kept us in the loop on the show’s new initiatives, new divisions, and expanded growth. We were extremely pleased to see the addition of two new divisions — Naturally Kids and Modern Child — but we were quite impressed with ABC’s enhancement of the show’s floor plan. The year, the layout has been designed to make it easier for buyers to navigate and to find the exhibitors they’d like to visit.

All this excitement snowballed into this special ABC Kids Expo issue of Baby & Kids. For the very first time, we introduce the ABC Kids Expo Market Guide, starting on page 10, designed for pre-show planning and for navigating the enhanced floor plan ABC offers. In this all-inclusive section, you’ll find details about the show, a grand presentation of new products, and informative advertisements — all designed to make navigating this larger-than-ever event easier.

Of course the show’s the thing but don’t forget that ABC is also a time for giving. Don’t miss the show’s special opportunities to make a difference: the First Candle Silent Auction and the K.I.D.S. (Kids In Distressed Situations, Inc.) donation program.

We think this issue aptly reflects the growth, resourcefulness and purpose of the ABC Kids Expo and expands the objective of Baby & Kids magazine. I’m sure you’ll catch a glimpse of me perusing the new products in Las Vegas. If so, stop me and tell me what you think of this issue.
