ABC Expo Offers Special Events And Divisions
The ABC Kids Expo has confirmed more than 1,200 exhibitors who will display their latest products and innovations at the Las Vegas Convention Center, September 7-11. Organizers launched their largest direct mail campaign targeting over 40,000 juvenile retailers encouraging them to attend the show. As a result, a record number of registrations from retailers have been received and the show is on track to attract 20 percent more retailers than the 2007 edition. Additionally, international registration has increased in all major buying categories, representing more than 50 countries.
The New Product Showcase will include more than 200 introductions, and attendance at this year’s “Pre-Show Wine and Cheese Reception,” September 6th from 4:30-6 p.m., for independent specialty retailers held within the New Product Showcase, has received some 300 confirmed reservations. Meanwhile, the Pink Flamingos and Art Explosion will entertain attendees during the Come Together reception held at the Las Vegas Hilton, August 9th from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
In addition to special events, the unprecedented number of registrants can also take advantage of the new Naturally Kids section featuring almost 50 exhibitors of eco-friendly products and the expanded Modern Child showcase, which has doubled in size.

ABC Kids Expo Partners With First Candle
All Baby & Child, Inc. will host a silent auction benefiting First Candle during The ABC Kids Expo. Bidding lasts through the first three days of the show and winners will be announced during the Come Together reception, August 9th, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Manufacturers can learn about making a tax-deductible donation on First Candle’s website, www.firstcandle.org.
JPMA To Honor Innovative Products
The Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association (JPMA) will honor cutting-edge products during the JPMA Innovation Awards Competition at the ABC Kids Expo. Entries will be judged based on innovation, marketability, trend-setting potential, appeal and usefulness. All products in the competition are new merchandise making their debut at the ABC Kids Expo. An award ceremony will be held September 7th to honor the winners.
K.I.D.S. To Accept Donations Throughout ABC Kids Expo
Throughout the duration of the ABC Kids Expo, Kids In Distressed Situations (K.I.D.S.) will accept product donations, which it will distribute to children in need. Current donation needs include apparel and other new items for low-income families, children of the poor and the working poor. Last year, K.I.D.S. distributed $62 million worth of new merchandise to more than 4.5 million individuals.
